Welcome
We provide a range of training and consultancy programmes for families and professionals which promote the benefits of play and creativity for children and young people with autism and Asperger's syndrome.
An interactive approach is based on mutual enjoyment and reciprocal communication that enables children and young people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome to:
- experience positive and empathetic interactions with others
- represent their knowledge of the world
- develop companionship
- discover meaningful ways to learn, and
- extend their imagination and creativity
Through positive interaction and shared play activities, children and young people have the opportunity to develop their communication, social understanding and more flexible ways of thinking and behaving.
The s m i l e programme provides home-based supportive strategies that focus on creating playful interactions to help build positive relationships and emotional wellbeing within the family.
CreativeConnections workshops in schools and care settings emphasize the value of play and creativity for learning, supporting communication and social inclusion.
It is through play and creativity that children and young people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome can develop the motivation to explore, experiment and represent, and express their unique understanding of the world.
